The Dominica Hospitals Authority (DHA) is aware of a video circulating on social media that displays a patient in a very compromising state. This unfortunate incident has raised serious concerns.
The DHA remains resolute in our commitment to providing quality healthcare in a confidential and safe environment for all our patients. This unfortunate situation is clearly at variance with the overwhelming commendations by the family, recognizing the efforts of our trauma team in effectively managing their loved one.
This was reinforced by the overseas medical facility to which the patient was successfully transferred. Without reservation, the DHA strongly condemns the circulation of such a video in the public domain.
We are fully committed to aggressively investigating this matter. We will take severe action against any staff member found to be responsible or involved in this breach of privacy and trust.
