Mr. Levi Peters

Office of the Attorney General

Kennedy Avenue, Roseau
Commonwealth of Dominica
Dear Mr. Levi,
I am writing on behalf of the citizens of the Commonwealth of Dominica to respectfully request that you reconsider advancing the pending Legal Professional Bill. This legislation would strengthen ethical standards, enhance accountability, promote professional development among legal practitioners, and reinforce public confidence in the legal profession.
In recent weeks, there has been growing public demand for a comprehensive legal framework to address attorney discipline and sanctions. The Legal Professional Act would serve this critical function by establishing clear guidelines for professional conduct while protecting the public from legal malpractice and misconduct.
I respectfully urge your office to review this matter and take the necessary steps to return this bill to Parliament at the earliest opportunity.
We would be especially grateful for your support, particularly given your longstanding advocacy for legal professional legislation dating back to 2008 during your tenure as President of the Dominica Bar Association.
The Legal Professional Act represents a balanced approach that addresses the needs of both the legal community and the public we serve.
Thank you for your time and consideration of this important matter.
Sincerely,
Joshua Francis
