Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and his deputy Finance Minister Dr. Irving McIntyre were elected as leaders and Deputy Leaders unopposed of the Dominica Labour Party (DLP) at the party’s delegates convention in Skerrit’s constituency of Vieille Case.
This brings to an end the speculation that Skerrit who had previously hinted that had told the party to “look for a successor” was about to quit as leader of the party.
The General Secretary of the party remains Cassanni Laville, while Cozier Frederick becomes the first Kallinago to be elected as a DLP executive taking up the post of Assistant General Secretary.
The new President of the DLP is Ambassador Emmanuel Nanthan, while Ian Pinard the former Parliamentary representative for the Soufriere/Scotts Head/Gillion constituency is the Vice President.
Catherine “Lady” Daniel is the Treasurer, with former Director of Audit Clarence Christian as the Assistant Treasurer.
