Minister of National Security Rayburn Blackmoore has confirmed that Davidson Valerie has been granted his instrument of appointment to continue to act in the post of Police Chief until June 30, 2024.
Valerie was appointed acting Police Chief from January 1 to March 31, 2024 vice Daniel Carbon the Police Chief proceeded on pre-retirement leave from January 1, 2024.
He explained that the Prime Minister acting in consultation with the opposition leader wrote to Her Excellency the President to inform her to issue the necessary letter of appointment to Valerie.
Just last month, Blackmoore speaking to the press, expressed “confidence” in Valerie and said he was “impressed with his leadership and management style of the Police force during his stint as acting Police Chief.
