Pre-Carnival Blood Drive hosted by the Blood Bank department of the Dominica National Medical Laboratory.

Importance:
A national blood drive before a Carnival celebration is critical to ensure a stable, safe, and sufficient blood supply, as the event typically sees a 60-70% increase in blood demand due to a higher rate of road accidents and trauma cases. As it stands, our supply is at a critically low level.
What to do before:
1. Healthy meal
2. Sufficient sleep the night before
3. Hydrated (sufficient water)
4. Avoid alcohol and smoking the day leading up to the drive
5. Walk with a photo ID
