Carlyn XP wins Ministry of Health COVID-19 Social Media Video competition

Ministry of Health, Wellness, and New Health Investment is pleased to announce the winners of its
COVID-19 Social Media Video Competition. This video campaign competition launched on August 20, 2021, through September 2, 2021, was designed to encourage individuals to submit short videos no longer than one minute focusing on health and safety protocols, vaccination, and testing.

Twenty-seven (27) entries were received. Only videos meeting the stipulated criteria were approved and posted to the Ministry of Health’s official Facebook Page. The public was encouraged to visit the Ministry of Health’s Facebook page to “like” and “share “the videos and also pay close attention to the messages in videos.

The competition ran for approximately four (4) weeks from the 7th of September 2021. At the end of the period, the top three videos which had amassed the most points will win cash prizes. First place will receive a cash prize of EC$2,500, second place EC$1,000, and third place EC$500. Each “like” was equated to one point while each “share” received three points.  Only likes and shares recorded on the Ministry of Health’s Facebook page were counted.

At the close of the competition, the following video content creators won. The first-place winner is Carlyn Xavier Phillip (Carlyn XP) who amassed a total of 19,204 points. The popular singer in her video depicted

Health and safety measures and vaccination.  In second place is Robert Guiste with a total of 11,756 points who portrayed getting vaccinated and the third-place winners are Aymah George and Lakeyia Joseph with an accumulation of 1,979 points who illustrated vaccination and sanitization.

The Ministry of Health, Wellness, and New Health Investment congratulates the winners and expresses gratitude to all the participants in the contest. We received many outstanding and amazing submissions therefore we commend the participation of all in the fight against the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The Ministry continues to encourage the public to adhere to the COVID 19 preventive hygiene measures to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. Protect yourself and others by following these steps:

  • Wear a mask properly.
  • Wash your hands often. Use soap and water or an alcohol based hand sanitizer (of 70%)
  • Maintain a safe distance from others (at least 6 feet)
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or bent elbow when you cough or sneeze
  • Get vaccinated.
  • Stay at home if you feel unwell
