Health officials worry as COVID-19 cases surge

Health officials in Dominica continue to express concerns and urge persons to get vaccinated as the COVID-19 cases in Dominica climb steadily.

According to the latest figures released by the Ministry of Health, the active cases on the island now stand at 596 as of Wednesday, January 5, 2022. Dominica also recorded 104 new cases during that period.

Dominica is yet to record the new Omicron variant which is in the French island of Guadeloupe, Barbados, Grenada, and St. Maarten.
