
The Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (ECSC) will mark the commencement of the New Law Year with its traditional Ceremonial Opening, to be held under the theme:
βThe ECSC β Justice that Endures: Anchored in Independence, Strengthened through Trust.β
This year, the Commonwealth of Dominica will serve as the host Member State, and the first scheduled sitting of the Court of Appeal for 2026 will take place in Dominica.
The Ceremonial Opening will begin with a church service on Sunday, 11 January 2026, at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Victoria Street, Roseau, commencing at 9:00 a.m.
On Monday, 12 January 2026, there will be a procession from the Magistrateβs Court to the State House. This will include the inspection of the Guard, followed by the Special Sitting at 10:00 a.m.
The Acting Chief Justice, Her Ladyship the Honourable Justice Margaret Price-Findlay, will deliver the feature address live from Dominica.
