A grieving mother seeks justice and answers for the murder of her son, asking God to “forgive the person who did it.”
The incident occurred at about 1:30 PM in Lalay, Grand Bay, on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
The mother of the deceased is Miranda Browne, and, in an exclusive interview with DBS news, described her son, 27-year-old Lee Joshua Leslie, also known as “Aladdin” of Grand Bay, as “a very nice boy”.
“He was a very nice boy with everybody. I don’t know what happened and why the person chose to kill him that way, but I pray that his soul rest in peace,” she told the DBS reporter.
“I am heartbroken…I have other children, but the death of this one is hurting me because I wasn’t expecting that. I just pray God that he rests in peace and that I find justice for my son, that’s all I am asking, justice for my son.”
She was at work when she got the dreaded news via a telephone call. “I was at work when I received a call from someone telling me that my son was shot and he is on the road. I also got another call from another friend who told me that Aladdin was shot and he is lying on the road, and no police are aware,” she remarked.
“So, I called the Ambulance, which informed me that they will call the police. I then left work with a co-worker of mine who gave me support, and proceeded to the area. On arrival, the place was cordoned off (by the police) with police tape, and during the investigations, he was uncovered, and I saw his body.”
“He always had a smile on his face, and so he died with his smile and all his nice teeth showing. God, I ask you to forgive the person who did it (crying), but it won’t go easy, so,” the crying mom stated.
