In celebration of the 76th birthday of the legendary Dr. Alwin Bully, the organization named in his honor, the Alwin Bully Foundation Inc. has been hard at work in preparation for a grand night of music and songs dubbed: Legendary Echoes, at the Factory on Valley Road, Roseau, this Saturday, 23 rd November from 8:00 p.m.
According to Foundation Chairman and show co-producer, Severin Mc Kenzie, plans for the
Legendary Echoes are progressing satisfactorily.
According to Mc Kenzie, “We are extremely satisfied with the progress made so far and patrons can expect an unforgettable night of high-quality entertainment”. He goes on to state:” We have every right to be proud of the work and commitment of the singers and the backup band for their tremendous hard work and dedication to ensuring that this event is delivered in a manner befitting of the person to whom we are dedicating this event. I am extending an invitation to lovers of good music and clean entertainment to come to the show and you won’t be disappointed”.
Legendary Echoes will feature a collection of songs written by Alwin Bully as theme songs from various theatrical and musical productions such as The Ruler in Hairoona, The Nite-Box, Folk Nativity, Pio Pio, and two plays by Nobel Laureate Derek Walcott translated to Kweyole – Ti-Jean and His Brothers and Dream on Monkey Mountain, as well as calypsoes performed by Rabbit and the Wizard. Legendary Echoes will feature the amazing talent of some of Dominica’s leading singers including Carlyn XP, Marie Pascal Affana, Tasha P, the Web, Janae Jackson, Shalina, Ricardo Cognet, Alwin’s sister Barbara Bully-Thomas, Maxine Alleyne-Esprit, Black Diamond, and the Christian Union Primary School Choir.
Musical accompaniment is led by the maestro Cornell Phillip who is ably supported by a team of amazing musicians including Fred Nicholas, Jerry Moulon, Mikael Ferrol, Keleb Rodney, Vernandra Christian, and Pan In Harmony.
Patrons to the show will be accommodated in the comfort of the fantastic venue, the Factory, with seating arrangements and the necessary precautions being taken to protect patrons from the elements. The venue will be set up to accommodate all segments of the population, including children and the elderly who plan to attend what is anticipated to be a memorable event to celebrate the life and works of Dr. Alwin Bully.

Proceeds from Legendary Echoes will go towards the further development of the arts and culture in Dominica including for training of emerging artistic talents and the documentation and promotion of the large body of work by Dr. Bully.
