Bath Estate and Harlem to contest Knock Out finals

Happi Bath Estate FC and Promex Harlem United will go in search of their first silverware for the 2020 season.

Both clubs earned the right to contest the championship match of the Dominica Football Association’s Knock Out Recovery Cup.

In the first semifinal encounter and the first match of a doubleheader on Sunday at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium, Happi Bath Estate FC got the better of a determined WE United FC by three goals to two. Yhaddi Reid opened the scoring for Bath Estate in the 16th minute of play when he converted a powerful free-kick from just outside 18. Anfernee Frederick made it two-nil on the stroke of halftime.

The second half saw WE United FC pressing and their first goal came courtesy Ashwan Hill. Julian Wade capitalized on a goalkeeping flop and gave his club a two goals advantage. Late in the second half of play, prolific goal scorer Michael Gasper pulled one back to cut the deficit. However, that goal was too little and too late.

In the afternoon’s second encounter Promex Harlem United earned a hard-fought win over Central Cooperative Credit Union Dublanc FC. Audel Laville scored the only goal that separated both clubs in the 26th minute of play.

The championship match is expected to take place on Sunday while WE United FC and Dublanc FC will battle for third position. The winner of the championship will walk away with EC$10 000.
