Big wins for South East and Harlem

Sagicor South East FC and Promex Harlem United both ended their preliminary group stage fixtures with emphatic wins on Sunday when the action continued in the 2022 Dominica Football Association Patrick John Cup.

In the first encounter of a doubleheader at the Stock Farm Sports Complex, South East FC, competing in Group A, made light work of Derby Boyz FC by inflicting six goals to nil drubbing. National under 20 player Adriel Lawrence registered a hat trick. D’Shawn James and Rai Phillip put their names on the score sheet with a goal each. The other goal came via the own goal route.

The win pushed South East FC into second place behind Valvoline We United FC and before DS FC.

In the day’s second encounter, Promex Harlem shrugged off an early setback as they whipped the Police Sports Club by seven goals to one.

Kyle Delsol, gave the lawmen the surprise lead in the 3rd minute of play when he calmly converted a one-on-one opportunity. However, from there it was all Harlem as national; player Donan Jervier found the back of the net three times as Harlem scored six goals in the second half of play. Second-half substitute Kieron Magloire got into the action with two goals of his own. Yvesterson Exavier and Daniel Castaneda scored one goal each. With the win, Harlem finished as the runner-up in Group B behind Middleham United FC but ahead of BAA Sharks FC.

The final preliminary round match will be contested this Tuesday from 6 pm at the Stock Farm Sports Complex when Police Sports Club takes on Trafalgar FC. A win for the Police will see them entering the playoff race in order to secure the final and 16th position for the round of 16.
