Celestine wins one mile classic 

Winners Circle athlete, Jonathan Celestine stole the spotlight as he emerged as the overall winner of the 2022 10th Annual Fox Mile Road Race. The mile-long race which took place in the southern community of Scotts Head on Sunday, 25th July 2022, saw Celestine emerging from a field of 65 competitors.  

Celestine reached the finished line in a time of 5 minutes and three seconds. He was followed by Kevin Leathan and Damien Lucien of the Pioneers Athletics Club and the Kalinago Eagles respectively. 

In the female category, Keva Pierre finished the race in 1st place in a time of six minutes and two seconds.

Tina Tullock of the Kalinago Eagles and Carla Bunche of the Striders Athletics Club came in second and third place respectively. 

In the under 11 categories Jani Prince of the Wesmar Rangers finished in 1st place followed by Safire Willis of the Pioneers Athletics Club. 

Nara Tulloch copped first place in the girls under 13 category. She was followed by Shante Thomas. 

In the under 15 categories K. Burton finished in first place with Samuel Harris finishing in second place. Both athletes ran on behalf of the Kalinago Eagles. 

Other winners included Kevin Leatham of the Pioneers Athletic Club running in the under 18 category for boys while Carle Bunche copped the award for the girls in the same category. 

Natasha Jervier of the Striders Athletics Club won the female under 40 category. Veteran athlete Lynson Lynch won the over 40 men’s category. The over 40 female categories for females were won by Leona Roberts. 

The event was dubbed a major success.
