Samuel Anthony Enoch Nicholas of Fond Cole has been arrested and charged with murder after the police did their investigations in the traffic accident at St Aroment on February 27, 2022, that resulted in the death of 37-year-old Brian McPherson.
Nicholas, aged 19, appeared before Chief Magistrate Candia Carette-George where the charge of murder was read to him. He was not required to plea since murder is an indictable offence and is tried at the High Court by a Judge and jury.
Corporal Boycott Yankey is the investigating officer in the matter.
According to documents read in court, the complaint of Corporal Boycott Yankey states that Samuel Anthony Enoch Nicholas of Fond Cole on February 27, 2022, at St. Aroment did murder Brian McPherson of St. Aroment contrary to law.
The matter has been adjourned to June 21, 2022. Nicholas has been remanded at the State’s Prison. He is represented by attorney at law Kondwani Williams.
This brings the murder toll in Dominica for 2022 to five.
