CCJ rules it has jurisdiction to entertain the Notice of Application for Special Leave to Appeal.

The Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) has ruled that the Court has the jurisdiction to entertain the Notice of Application for Special Leave to Appeal in DM Civil Appeal No. DOMHCVAP2020/0012A-J between Glenroy Cuffy, Dayne Oswald George Atherley Robin Applicants, And Melissa Skerrit, Ian Anthony, Josephine Lewis, Gerald Burton, Hilary Shillingford
Wayne James, Kondwani Williams, Alick Lawrence, Dominica Broadcasting Corporation, Roosevelt Skerrit, The Attorney General
The Commissioner of Police, the Respondents.

  1. The Hearing of the Application for Special Leave shall be treated as the Hearing of the substantive appeal in the event that the Bench considers that Special Leave should be granted.

UPON CONSIDERING the Order of this Court dated 3 September 2021 directing the parties to
file written submissions addressing the issue of whether the Court has the jurisdiction to entertain
the Notice of Application for Special Leave to appeal

AND UPON READING the written submissions of the parties filed pursuant to that Order.
