Police arrest four men for the murder of David Aries Esprit and one man for Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) of Martindale Morancie

The police have made a major breakthrough into the death of David Aries Esprit of Campbell.

In a release from Leanna Edwards acting Superintendent of Police in charge of the Southern Division, she disclosed that “investigations carried out by the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force into the murder of 58-year-old David Aries Esprit of Campbell have led to the arrest of four male individuals”.

Brad Alexander, Vanty Lestrade Alexander, Kendell Toussaint of Campbell, and Akim Jno-Lewis of Mahaut were on March 18, 2022, jointly charged for the murder of David Aries Esprit.

All four will have their first court appearance before a Roseau Magistrate on Monday, March 21, 2022, where the charge of murder will be read to them.

The police are also expressing “gratitude” to the general public for “the tremendous support and assistance received during the investigation process.”
“Your assistance signifies that the community policing initiative is working, thank you, we deeply appreciated your assistance,” said Leanna Edwards acting Superintendent of Police in charge of the Southern Division.

Meantime, the police have disclosed that former Dominica National Football player Stevenson “Echo” Morancie is in police custody assisting them in the stabbing of Martindale Morancie of Bath Estate.

According to the police, Martindale Morancie received a wound to his neck with a “sharp object inflicted by Stevenson “Echo” Morancie of Yam Piece at the Roseau Market on Saturday 19, March 2022.”

“Martindale’s injury is not life-threatening and is a patient at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital (DCFH) in a stable condition.”
