The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force say they are presently investigating a road traffic accident that claimed the life of one man from Portsmouth.
According to Police Inspector Fixton Henderson, “On Saturday, March 11, 2023, at about 6:40 pm Al Samora Knight male 33 years of Zicak Portsmouth was standing on the Western side of the road at Holland Street Portsmouth when he was struck by a motor vehicle.”
“The driver of the vehicle did not stop after the collision. The driver is presently being sought by the police. Knight was left lying on the street with serious head injuries and was transported to the Reginald Fitzgerald Armour Hospital in Portsmouth via ambulance where he was examined and pronounced dead by a medical doctor.”
A postmortem examination is expected to be done soon.
