Police seeking help from public to solve shooting at Mahaut

Police are seeking the help of the general public in solving a shooting incident that occurred in the community of Mahaut earlier today.

According to acting Superintendent of Police Leana Edwards, the incident occurred at about 10:30 on Friday, March 25, 2022, and has left one-man hospitalized nursing gunshot wounds.

“Kian “Boyie” Laudat from Canefield received two gunshot wounds to his back while on his property at Curry Rest Road Mahaut,” she said.

“A young male individual riding a motorcycle stopped to have a conversation with him, (Kian Laudat) during the conversation, an argument ensured and the young man discharged two rounds at Laudat and subsequently robbed him of his five gold chains valued at EC$30,000.00 and then fled the scene.”

She revealed that Laudat is presently a patient at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital (DCFH) in a serious but stable condition and is scheduled to undergo surgery.
