Justice Colin Williams presides over the September Criminal Session of the High Court

The September Criminal Session of the High Court opened in Dominica with only nine matters on the courts Cause list before Justice Colin Williams.

Jenno Joseph pleaded not guilty to the offense of causing death by dangerous driving. The incident dates back to December 26, 2020, and took place at Pottersville on the E.O. LeBlanc High Way with Joseph driving vehicle registration number T0976.

The prosecution is alleging that his “careless driving” caused the death of Philsbert Felix Williams. He pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Rolston George who is charged with robbery also pleaded not guilty. The incident took place at Picard in Portsmouth on April 23, 2018, where George is alleged to have robed Witney Summers, an iPhone, gold chairs, bracelets, necklaces, rings, and cash all to the total value of EC$59,503.79.

Shanalson Charles of Pointe Michel also pleaded not guilty to a charge of forgery dating back to January 7, 2012. The prosecution is alleging that he forged a stamp of the State, “extended stay”.

Other matters involve Ronaldo Wiltshire who is charged with the murder of businessman Phillip Norman Rolle on October 29, 2020, Ruben Lewis for causing grievous bodily harm with intent, Jan Bedminister also causing grievous bodily harm with intent and Rotley Common for murder.
