Peter Lovell of Glanvillia Portsmouth has pleaded guilty before Justice Wynante Adrien Roberts on a charge of “unlawful sexual connection” with a six-year-old girl in 2020.
As a result of his guilty plea, the prosecution headed by the State Attorney attached to the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Marie-Louise Pierre-Louis has withdrawn the charge of indecent assault against him.
Lovell, now aged 67, is said to have sexually molested the child then aged six years.
His lawyer Wayne Norde then asked the court to have him continue on bail until his sentencing, but after requesting the views of the prosecution who did not object to him being placed on bail until his sentencing, the judge denied that request.
She stated that given the seriousness of the offense she was not minded granting him bail since it was just “delaying the inevitable.”
She ordered a Social Inquiry Report on him to be sent to the court on or before July 15, 2022. Lovell who is now on remand at the State’s Prison will be sentenced on July 27, 2022.
