Two men on separate gun and ammunition charges are expected to appear before a Roseau Magistrate on February 10, 2022.
Between February 3 and 7 2022 Customs and Police intercepted guns and ammunition at the Woodbridge Bay Port in Fond Cole that arrived in a barrel.
In a news release, police stated that Jade Stewart of Grand Bay was arrested and charged for the importation of firearms and ammunition and also of trafficking of firearms and ammunition into Dominica on February 3, 2022.
Kent Mitchell of Bellevue Chopin was also arrested and charged for the importation of ammunition and trafficking of ammunition into the country on Monday, February 7, 2022.
“Both men are expected to be taken before a Roseau Magistrate on February 10, 2022, where the charges will be read to them” the police stated.
The police have also praised the work of the Customs Division and the police in the work done in the seizure of illegal firearms and ammunition.
They are warning persons to cease and desist from the importation of illegal firearms and ammunition into the country.
