Weather Outlook for Dominica and the Lesser Antilles
Valid from 6:00 AM on Friday, July 8, 2022
A high-pressure system is expected to be dominant across the area during the next 24 hours. Low-level moisture within the wind flow is expected to support an increase in cloudiness and shower activity during the period. Meanwhile, two weak tropical waves are expected to produce unstable conditions mainly over the islands to the south of the chain from today and into the weekend.
Moderate seas are anticipated during the next 24 hours, with waves peaking at 8.0ft in eastern coastal waters. A Small Craft Advisory is in effect for above-normal seas. Small craft operators and sea bathers are advised to exercise caution.
Please note that a greater degree of cloudiness, more frequent rainfall, and higher rainfall amounts are normally experienced across the east coast and interior of Dominica.
