Weather Outlook for Dominica and the Lesser Antilles
Valid from: 6:00 AM on Thursday, June 9, 2022
A mid to upper-level trough system is expected to continue to support an increase in cloudiness and possible shower activity mainly across the southern portion of the area during the next 24 hours. Isolated light to moderate showers is possible during the period. Thereafter from Friday, a tropical wave is projected to generate additional moisture and instability across the island.
Dust haze is expected to persist throughout the week in varying concentrations. People with respiratory sensitivities should take precautions to avoid complications.
Slight to moderate seas are anticipated during the next 24 hours, with waves peaking near 7.0ft in eastern coastal waters. An increase in wave heights together with an increase in wind speeds can be expected by tomorrow afternoon.
Please note that a greater degree of cloudiness, more frequent rainfall, and higher rainfall amounts are normally experienced across the east coast and interior of Dominica.
