Weather Outlook for Dominica and the Lesser Antilles

Valid from 6:00 AM on Monday, September 12, 2022

A high-pressure system remains dominant across the area. As a result, occasional cloudiness with a few, brief showers are likely over the island today. The presence of an upper-level trough and a weak tropical wave can be expected to increase the chance of showers across the area by later today into tomorrow.

Slight to moderate seas are anticipated during the next 24 hours, with waves peaking at 7.0ft. Northerly swells are expected to impact the western, northern through eastern coastline by later today. Small craft operators and sea bathers are advised to be on alert.

Please note that a greater degree of cloudiness, more frequent rainfall, and higher rainfall amounts are generally experienced across the east coast and interior of Dominica.
