Weather Outlook for Dominica and the Lesser Antilles
Valid from: 6:00 AM on Tuesday, September 7, 2021
A surface to low-level trough, associated with Major Hurricane Larry, is expected to result in occasional cloudiness with brief showers across the area during today. A reduction in wind speed will be maintained during the period. Light winds, available moisture, and daytime heating could enhance afternoon showers.
On Wednesday, a tropical wave is expected to produce scattered showers mainly across the southern portion of the Lesser Antilles.
A slight dust haze is expected to linger across the area during the next few days. People with respiratory sensitivities are advised to take all precautions to avoid complications.
Moderate seas are anticipated during the next 24 hours, with swells produced by Hurricane Larry peaking to 8.0ft along the eastern coastline today. A further reduction to 7.0ft is expected overnight. Life-threatening surf and rip currents are expected today. A Small Craft Warning and a High Surf Advisory are in effect. All are advised to stay out of the water.
