On Wednesday, October 26, 2022, the Dominica Association of Persons with Disabilities (DAPD) celebrated its 39th Anniversary.
In this regard, the DAPD held a special event to commemorate the occasion with the honouring of its longest-serving pioneer, Nathalie Murphy by naming its recently constructed auditorium after her.
According to a release from the DADP, Mrs. Murphy has been “championing the cause of and working with persons with disabilities in Dominica, Regionally and Internationally since October 26, 1983.”
“Celebrating our Treasures” is the theme under which the anniversary is being held.
Speaking at the event, she stated that the joy she has is for the amount of support that she has received over the years from many people especially those with “disability” and so, I want to dedicate this award to all those persons with “disability” she stated.
