Defending champions widens the gap

Defending champions Sagicor South East FC has maintained its lead in the Dominica Football Association (DFA) Premier Division League.

South East FC opened up a seven points lead at the top of the points table when they easily brushed aside Belfast Estate Mahaut Soca Strikers FC on Sunday.

National player, Randolph Peltier found the back of the net twice and Coann Lockhart netted the other goal in the three-nil win at the Almond Park in Dublanc.

Also on Sunday, Petro Caribe Pointe Michel  FC and former champions Central Cooperative Credit Union LTD Dublanc FC played to a one-all draw at the Benjamin Park. Sherkel St. Marie opened the scoring for the former champions to give his club a one-nil lead at the interval. Marcellus Raffoul scored for Pointe Michel FC in the 89th minute of play.

In more Premier Division action on Saturday, former champions Promex Harlem United put an end to their three-match losing streak with a two-nil victory over WE United FC at the Benjamin Park. National player Audel Laville scored both goals, one in either half of play. In the other match played on Saturday at the Almond Park, East Central FC and LA Enterprises Bombers FC played to nil-all draw.

In the Division One League on Saturday Busta Warner FC defeated RIC Kensboro United by three goals to nil at the Newtown Savannah. Vince Francis, Curwan Hector, and Sharhid Alexander were the goal scorers for Warner FC. At the Benjamin Park, Calibishie Diasporas FC and BAA Sharks FC played to a one-all draw. Young Nixon scored for Calibishie Diasporas FC while Quincy George scored for BAA Sharks FC.

On Sunday, All Saints FC defeated Do It Center Mighty Avengers FC by two goals to one. Lewis Ugo netted twice for the winners while Phillip Enoch scored for Mighty Avengers FC.
