Defending champs maintain momentum

Back-to-back defending Premiere Division champions, Sagicor South East FC kept their momentum as the club recorded another victory in the 2023 Dominica Football Association Premier Division League. 

On Sunday at Almond Park in Dublanc, in one of two scheduled matches, the defending champions scored three goals in the second half to defeat Connect 767 East Central FC by three goals to nil. National player, and player of the game, Javed George found the back of the net twice. The other goal was scored by Sydney Lockhart. 

In the other game of the day, Petro Caribe Pointe Michel FC recorded its second win of the season with four goals to three win over LA Stars FC at Benjamin Park. Justin Casimir scored a hat trick as the winners enjoyed four goals to one lead midway into the second half. LA Stars FC, however, came back with two quick goals from the head of Trai Douglas, who scored all three goals for his club. Burt Casimir was the other goal scorer for Pointe Michel FC. Justin Casimir was named the player of the game. 

In the other matches contested over the weekend, Valvoline WE United FC secured a huge win as they defeated Blue Waters Bath Estate FC by one goal to nil at Almond Park in Dublanc. The lone goal of the game was scored by Randell Coipel. WE United FC custodian was named as the player of the game. 

At Portsmouth, the home club LA Enterprises Bombers FC defeated Promex Harlem United by two goals to one. Jamie Parillon scored one goal and the other was scored by Vandie Paul. Harlem’s lone goal came via the own goal route. 

On Friday, Central Cooperative Credit Union Dublanc FC defeated Tranquility Resorts Middleham United FC by two goals to one. Travist Joseph and McConney Royer scored for the winners. Josimar Gustave was the scorer for Middleham United FC.
