Tourism Minister Denise Charles has announced that given the situation re COVID-19 the government has taken the decision to cancel the 2021 carnival celebrations.
Many have been asking the question as to if Dominica will like Trinidad & Tobago will given the rise of COVID 19 cases continue with carnival.
Earlier this year, the government of Trinidad & Tobago, took the decision to cancel carnival 2021 in Trinidad and all activities so related.
At a COVID-19 press conference, Tourism Minister Denise Charles stated that “the government, having consulted with the various stake holders and taking into consideration the serious issues relating to COVID-19 has taken a decision to cancel all activities relating to 2021 carnival activities in Dominica.”
She stated that this was done in the “the best interest of the country and its citizens” given the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
