The Dominica Combined Schools have leveled their five-match 2022 Schoolboys Cricket Series at two games apiece. On Wednesday at the Benjamin Park in Portsmouth, Dominica Combined Schools defeated their counterparts, Antigua Combined Schools, by seven wickets to register their second win in as many days.
The Antigua Combined Schools, after being invited to take the first knock scored 103 all out in 23.4 overs. Deago Joseph 15 and Ajahrie Joseph with 12 not out were the main contributors.
Doing the bulk of the damage for the Dominica Combined Schools were Morrel Burton and Yawani Regis with three for 17 and three for 22 respectively. Kyron Phillip provided excellent support as he bagged three for 23. The other wicket-taker was Tyrese Leblanc at a cost of 24 runs.
Set a victory target of 104 in their allotted 40 overs, the home team reached 104 for three from 20.4 overs to record the seven wickets win.
Both Kyron Phillip and Yawani Regis backed up their bowling efforts as they scored 37 not out and 27 not out respectively. Lluvio Charles aided the total with 12 and Dionne Rolle added 13.
Bowling for Antigua Combined Schools, Ajahrie Joseph, Xaveek Joseph, and Shamar Pereira claimed one wicket each.
The final 40-over match will take place on Friday, 19th September 2022 at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.
