By DFA Media

The Senior Men’s National football team under the guidance of head coach Ellington Sabin left the island today (October 9, 2024) en route to Bermuda as they gear up for crucial matches in the Concacaf Nations League.

The team will face Bermuda in two matches scheduled for Saturday, October 12, and Tuesday, October 15.

Head coach Ellington Sabin is optimistic about Dominica’s prospects against Bermuda, emphasizing the team’s growing confidence and skills. “The ball retention capacity of the players continues to improve. Preparations have been going well thus far, and we believe our chances are looking good in these two games, the team is in high spirits and ready for the task ahead,” he stated.

Currently positioned third in their group, Dominica is eager to capitalize on this opportunity to advance in the league.

He continued, we have been working hard and the guys are ready and rearing to go, we are not going to take Bermuda for granted and we are coming to play good football to move up the ladder.”

According to Coach Sabin, his team is also aware of the “attacking strengths and defensive weaknesses” of Bermuda, and “we plan to shore up our defense while exploiting their flaws to convert opportunities into goals.”

Troy Jules the Dominican-based overseas player says he is also happy with the way things have gone so far. “We have been training hard, although I joined the team late but I am satisfied with the way things have gone,” he said.
