Connect 767 East Central FC picked up their first piece of silverware when they walked away with the 2022 Dominica Football Association Present Cup. In the grand finale on Sunday at the Stockfarm Sports Complex, East Central FC defeated Promex Harlem United by two goals to nil in the second match of the doubleheader. Romario Burgins netted both goals for the winners. Burgins was named the player of the game.Â
In the first encounter, Petro Caribe Pointe Michel FC came from two goals to nil down to edge out Central Cooperative Credit Union Dublanc FC by three goals to two. Felix Anselm and Travist Joseph scored one goal each to give Dublanc FC that early two goals lead. However, Pointe Michel FC came back with three unanswered goals to secure the match and third place in the competition. Player of the game Bert Casimir scored twice and Marcus Bredas converted the winner.
All the top three clubs received medals and cash prizes. East Central FC picked up $15000 while runners-up Harlem walked away with $10000. For their third-place effort, Pointe Michel received $5000. The 2023 season is expected to commence in February.
