- Eight Dominicans graduated with degrees from Western Illinois University in the December 2024 Commencement exercises. Six were awarded master’s degrees while the other two earned bachelor’s degrees.

“We continue to be impressed with the academic achievements of students from the Caribbean region,” WIU President Kristi Mindrup said. “This has been a stellar growth region and a source of pride for WIU.” Over 100 Caribbean students are enrolled at WIU with more slated to begin studies at all degree levels this August.
