The Police in Dominica say that they are investigating a motorcycle accident that occurred under the Canefield Cliff at about 11:30 pm on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.
According to the acting inspector of police Fixton Henderson, the rider Emanie Prentice aged 36 years old of Massacre was riding a motorcycle PZ940 in a northerly direction on the E.O LeBlanc Highway with Sherissa Bougounou aged 20 years of Morne Prosper, when the bike collided with the sea wall on the western side of the highway.
“Both riders appeared to have been thrown off the motorcycle over the wall. The rider who had an amputated left leg prior to the accident was found alive and responsive on the rocks near the seashore with multiple fractures including an open fracture to his right ankle,” Inspector Henderson (acting) stated.
Bougounou he reported, was found “unresponsive including an open wound to her forehead and a crushed right leg…. she appeared to be dead.”
“Both were taken to the Dominica China Friendship Hospital where Bougounou was medically examined and pronounced dead by a medical doctor. Prentice in the meantime was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Dominica China Friendship Hospital.”
He extended deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased on behalf of the Chief of Police gazette and other officers and also wished Prentice a speedy recovery.
