Former champs keep title race alive

After consecutive one-nil defeats in their last two outings, former champions Central Cooperative Credit Union LTD Dublanc FC is back in the winners’ circle.

On Friday, at the Almond Park in Dublanc, the club, with all the support of the home fans, edged out their opponents by the slimmest of margins when the action continued in the Dominica Football Association (DFA) Premier Division League.

The former champions raced to an early three goals to nil advantage within the first 15 minutes of play and had to fight off a strong challenge from their opponents. Sherkel St. Marie was in fine form as he found the back of the net twice in the three goals to two victory. Savio Anselm scored the other goal for the home club.

Doing the scoring for Soca Strikers FC were Jerran Sebastien and Mael John with one goal each.
