Nature Isle News (NIN) has received information that former Press Secretary of the Dominica Labour Party (DLP) Government Sean Douglas has accepted an invitation from one of the two independent candidates to be part of the opposition Senators in the Dominica Parliament.
In 2010, Douglas who served for nine (9) years as Government Press Secretary was fired from the post.
Douglas said he received news of his firing from a letter signed by the then Cabinet Secretary Felix Gregoire and dated July 12, 2010. He referred to his firing as “unjust, unreasonable, and immoral.”
During the December 2009 election campaign, Douglas was transferred as press secretary to head the DLP’s public relations campaign.
Opposition leader Jesma Paul Victor said she was “not yet ready to reveal who her choices of opposition Senator would be.”
When contacted about the news of his appointment Douglas did not deny the fact that he was approached to be an opposition senator. He refused to speak further on the matter.
He has been an outspoken critic of the Roosevelt Skerrit-led DLP since his firing as Government Press Secretary.
Sean
I am totally confident in your ability to shine in this new challenge. In a sense, Portsmouth now has a representative who can help their area because of his understanding of what’s happening and what can be done better. This insight applied for the dynamics of the whole country.
All d best
POO HAY. SÉ SA MENM. Just see what he has reduced too. If he had any ambition he would have not BEG PEOPLE TO KEEP UP THE DOUGLAS LEGACY. HE WOULD HAVE DONE IT HIMSELF. He Cabral Bihazin wash away all of them is a bunch of lazy worthless people WHO THINK THEY HAVE AN ENTITLEMENT IN DOMINICA POLITICS
Nahh! In no way would Sean accept such a position because, according to him, the “sham elections” were “rigged” because the “whole electoral system is corrupt” and the Leader of the majority in this new Parliament is a “demon.” I mean, Sean would not legitimize the rigging of the 2022 General Elections by accepting to sit in a parliament that the corrupt electoral system and sham elections produced. Nahh! Ahwa, not Sean Douglas. He is more principled and righteous than this.
NI, at least you should verify the veracity of your story before you publish it.
This is fake news!
