Government to begin construction of Synthetic Athletics Track in Point Round

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has disclosed, that the government of Dominica, will soon enter into a formal agreement for the development and construction of a Synthetic Athletics Track in Point Round Portsmouth.

According to Skerrit, he had previously informed the public that exploration of that site was on the way for the development of that facility for the advancement of Track & Field in Dominica.

“The government of Dominica has now taken a firm decision on this and is moving ahead with plans for construction. Already, clearing of the land is on the way, and in the coming days and weeks more information with be shared with the public,” Skerrit said.

He disclosed that it is their intention to share the plans with the public so that everyone is “aware of what the facility looks like and what the plans entail.”

“But certainly, this is a positive development in sports development in Dominica…it is a long-awaited project and, I am sure that everyone will be pleased with that announcement,” he said.

  1. And just like the Stockfarm indoor facility, five years from now we will hear excuses why it’s not yet a reality.

    Hopefully by then we would have a more capable Prime Minister.
