High Court Criminal Session commences September 22

After a break for COVID-19 which saw the suspension of court sittings, the Criminal Session of the High Court is set to commence on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, from 9 am at the High Court in Roseau.

According to a release from the office of the acting registrar of the High Court Marie-Therese Etienne, Jurors who have been summoned will come to court on September 14, 2020, and on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, eleven (11) persons will appear before Justice Wynante Adrien-Roberts for arraignment.

On the list are three (3) murders. Prison officer, Rodman Moses Lewis, of 35 Solomon Lane Goodwill, will be arraigned for the 2015 murder of his girlfriend, Triscia Riviere, on November 3rd, 2015, and Roy Florent of Good Hope for the murder of Eddie Lewis of Petite Soufriere in 2012.

Also on a charge of murder is Daveroy Peters of Woodford Hill. Three persons will be arraigned for charges of indecent assault, unlawful sexual intercourse, Denny Shillingford for taking conveyance, Mandel Albert Williams of Vielle Case, Jonathan Walsh of River Street Roseau, and Romanus John Charles of Pointe Michel for unlawful wounding and grievous bodily harm (GBH) and Mastafah Kaleem James of Marigot.

During the week the court will also have case management on a number of matters Luhanson Javeed Pascal, Kervin Mason, and Sherman Webb for murder.

Prisma Joseph for deception, Samanthia Caby for theft, Lewis Benjamin for attempted murder, Daryl Maximea, Shane Graham and Bertrand Benjamin for GBH, Yannick Lander, Martin Seaman & Devin Challenger for murder, Monrowe Marvin Toussaint for deception, Denny Shillingford for malicious damage and Darwin Roderick Abraham for forgery also Kenroy Paul for possession of cannabis with intent. Also for case management are ten (10) matters involving unlawful sexual intercourse, rape, and indecent assault.
