Hillside FC has stamped its authority and has earned the right to be called the best team in the 2022 Dr. Darroux Bafond Point 8v8 Football League.
In the championship match contested on Sunday at the Bagatelle Playing Field, Nelson Maxime scored two goals to help his team secure a three- goals to-one win over Quatre Bois. Tyrell Francis was the other player on target for the winners.
Sherwyn Williams scored the lone goal for Quatre Bois.
Following the championship match, several players were awarded for their performances during the course of the league. Arnan Bruno who represented the Hillside team was adjudged as the best goalkeeper. The best defender award went to Marlon Morancie of the Project Eagles team. Nelson Maxime of Hillside was named as the best striker and was also named as the best midfielder while Kayan Jno Baptiste of Project Eagles was the leading goal scorer. The sportsmanship award went to Sherwyn Williams of Quatre Bois.
The league was supported by the parliamentary representative for the area Dr. Kenneth Darroux and the Dominica Football Association(DFA) among others.
