Dominica’s most decorated and celebrated athlete for the last 18 months is getting ready to say, ‘I do. The Commonwealth Games bronze medalist, Thea Lafond, and fiancé Aaron Gadson will exchange vows on October 1st, 2022.
The wedding is expected to take place at 908 North Stonestreet Avenue in Rockville, Maryland.
Lafond, who is ranked third in the world in the triple jump, has been coached by Gadson for some time and the two will tie the knot in what is dubbed as a ‘nothing fancy, just love’ ceremony.
Lafond, who is the daughter of Dominican-born former journalist Anestine Theophille Lafond, placed 3rd in the recently concluded Diamond League series.
The 28-year-old won Dominica’s first medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England. She has represented Dominica at the Rio Olympics in 2016 as well as the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
