Premier Division Club, Tranquility Beach Middle Ham United have finished unbeaten in the preliminary round of the Dominica Football Association Patrick John Cup. In their final Group B encounter on Wednesday evening at the Stock Farm Sports Complex, the Cochrane-based club made light work of the Police Sports Club.
Shakeem Gregoire, Clemson Isaac, Louvens Jean, Derwin Eusebe, and Shane Cochrane netted one goal each. Kyle Joseph scored the lone goal for the lawmen. The win moved Middleham United FC to a maximum of 15 points and assured them of a first-place finish in the group. Police is on 3 points with two matches left and still have an outside chance of qualifying for the round of 16.
In another encounter last evening at the Benjamin Park in Portsmouth, St. Joseph edged out LA Enterprises Bombers FC by one goal to nil. The lone goal of the match was scored by Linton Marshall in the 84th minute of play. The win helped St. Joseph finish in second place behind Petro Caribe Pointe Michel FC and before Glanvillia FC as the Group C automatic qualifiers. Bombers FC will now be engaged in a playoff with other 4th placed clubs.
On Tuesday, defending Premier League champions Sagicor South East FC inched closer to making it to the round of 16 with a comfortable three goals to nil victory over newcomers DS Sports Club at the Stock Farm Sports Complex. National player Javid George converted all three goals for the winners. With the win, South East FC remained in second place behind WE United FC and ahead of DS Sports Club.
In the lone encounter carded for this evening, Central Cooperative Credit Union Limited Dublanc FC will take on Calibishie Diasporas FC from 6 pm at Benjamin Park in Portsmouth. A win for Calibishie Diasporas will push them to 3rd place in Group D.
