Concern continues to mount about the spate of murders taking place in Dominica.
Throughout the period January to July 2020, a total of nine (9) murders were reported to the Commonwealth of Dominica Police force. Four (4) of the nine (9) murders came from the execution of a lethal Firearm.
The status of the murders are as follows:
1. Portsmouth: 04.02.2020 Xing Jian Yong male adult 49 years of China residing at Picard received a gunshot wound to his upper chest. The incident occurred on Tuesday 04th February 2020. Investigations into the matter are ongoing. (unsolved)
2. Pottersville:16.02.2020 Kent George male adult 39 years of Pottersville received gunshot wounds to his legs. The suspect is Romer Alberto Pantojavargas male adult of Venezuela residing at Pottersville. The incident occurred on Sunday 16th February 2020. (solved)
3. Petite Savanne: 18.03.2020 Avandale ANSELM male adult 63 years of Petite Savanne received multiple wounds to his body. The suspect is Mahatma Corriette male adult of Petite Savanne. The incident occurred on Wednesday 18th March 2020. (solved)
4. Portsmouth: 03.04.2020 Conroyson Boyd male adult of Portsmouth found with several injuries to his body. The incident occurred on Friday 03rd April 2020. Investigations into the matter are ongoing. (unsolved)
5. Fab: 10.05.2020 Wong Baron male adult of Fab received injuries to the neck with a Speargun. The suspect is Symbol Baron male adult of Fab. The incident occurred on Sunday 10th May 2020. (solved)
6. Portsmouth: 18.05.2020 Mireille Emy-Pradon female adult 70 years of Rimes France was discovered in a state of decomposition. The suspect is Steven Joseph male adult 35 years of Capuchin. The incident occurred on Monday 18th May 2020. (solved)
7. Laudat: 27.06.2020 Damien Ernest received gunshot wounds to his chest. The suspects are Marvin Albert and Samron Thomas of Grandbay. The incident occurred on Saturday 27th June 2020. (solved)
8. Castle Comfort: 12.07.2020 Hendricks Peters male adult of Kings Lane received multiple gunshot wounds to his head, Chest, and Stomach. The incident occurred on Sunday 12th July 2020. Investigations into the matter are ongoing. (pending)
9. Phillip “Boldface” Bazil- of Woodford Hill-Multiple stab wounds to body.-Solved- Two brother arrested and charged.
The police helping some of these criminals to obtain the same firearms that came in a barrel …what ever happened to that investigation
