Police Constable given military funeral

25-year-old police Constable Eddison Burk Alexander has been laid to rest at the Roseau Public Cemetery after a funeral service held at the Truth and Grace Fellowship Global Church in Roseau.

Constable Alexander died on January 31, 2023, at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital after a brief illness.

He was enlisted in the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force on July 1, 2019, and according to the eulogy, his goal was to serve and make an impact in the community.

“This drive manifested an inner motivation to be good to others, he had to quickly learn how to deal with all types of individuals and was driven to make a difference in society.”

He was stationed at the Grand Bay Police Station at the time of his death.

He had dreams to travel and did so much more but he did not make it to have those experiences. No one can deny the sadness felt, the many unanswered questions, the many unsolved mysteries, and the many broken hearts. Only God knows…why. To all of you who are gathered here, we want you to know that Eddison would be so touched that you celebrated his life. Through pain and sorrow, this is how we believe he would have liked to be remembered, like a little brother, a son, an officer, a child of God, or like we fondly called him “Eddo.” We love you, bro. Rest in peace.

It was a moving ceremony as police officers, family friends, and well-wishes gathered to say farewell to Constable Alexander as he was accorded a military funeral.
