Shoppers at popular supermarket A-C Shillingford & Co in the capital city Roseau and bystanders were shocked to witness a shooting incident in broad daylight.
According to an eyewitness who asked not to be named, he was parked in the Kingshill bus stop awaiting passengers when an individual ( name withheld) driving a Noah bus stopped next to Francis Enterprises and walked up to an individual next to him pulled out a gun and shot him in the foot.
“I witnessed the incident…this is crazy, I am shocked and can’t believe what I just witnessed,” he told Nature Isle News (NIN).
The motives for the shooting are not known, the police crime scene investigators were present and collected the spent shells.
Head of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Assistant Superintendent of Police Belgrove Charles confirmed to NIN that they are investigating a shooting incident that occurred just past 4 pm next to ACS in Roseau.
In the latest update, police have released the name of the bus driver who was shot as McKinley Williams of Kingshill. Williams the police stated is a patient at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital (DCFH) nursing a gunshot wound to his foot. Police are in search of his assailant and are asking for persons with information to contact the hotline 911 or crime stoppers @ 1-800-8477 or 2665164/2665165.
