Today December 6, 2022, is Polling Day in Dominica where 43 candidates will be contesting the polls. The Dominica Labour Party (DLP) has filled in a full slate of 21 candidates, a record 16 are Independent and 6 for the new Team Unity party.
The main opposition United Workers Party (UWP) has boycotted the polls because of the absence of “Electoral Reform.” The party, the once-dominant Dominica Freedom Party (DFP), and other civic-minded individuals and groups have teamed up to form the “Electoral Collision.”
A total of 81,498 persons are registered to vote.
