Four former calypso Monarchs have booked their places in the finals of the 2023 Calypso competition set for February 18, 2023.
Daddy Chess with his composition “He gas no gas”, nine times Monarch Dice with “everything lost’ De Bobb with “If I was Prime Minister and Tasha P with her controversial piece “Calypso high are the former Monarchs.
The others are first-timer Trillia G with his popular number “Dick Taylor Ship”, Black Diamond with “My granny change”, Shanice- “concerned”, Healer with “Gangster society” and Mighty D with his popular number “Talking Dogs.”
They will meet reigning Monarch King Jaydee. A notable casualty in the semi-finals was another former Monarch Karessah.
