UWP seeks answers as to who will be the new Chief Elections Officer

PRESS RELEASE

Roseau – October 21 st, 2024: The United Workers Party (UWP)- TEAM Dominica, in a
letter dated 26th September 2024 and addressed to Her Excellency Mrs. Sylvannie Burton, DAH, President of the Commonwealth of Dominica, inquired of the President about the end of tenure and appointment of a Chief Elections Officer for the Commonwealth of Dominica.

The UWP had noted that the tenure of the Office of the Chief Elections Officer Ian Michael Anthony, had expired on Wednesday 25th September 2024, and that no person had been appointed to fill the now vacant position of Chief Elections Officer.

In a response received and dated 7th October 2024 from the Office of Dominica’s President to the United Workers Party, the letter stated that “Her Excellency was attending to the matter”.

No notification has been issued advising who had been appointed to serve as Dominica’s new Chief Elections.
