Valerie in new ACP

Acting Police Chief Lincoln Corbette has confirmed that the post of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) has been filled effective September 1, 2020, and now acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Davidson Valerie is the holder of that post.

“I am at this time extremely happy with the promotions made by the Police Service Commission (PSC) which makes my job much easier and the general membership is ecstatic and happy for what was done,” he said.

He continued, “Twenty-four promotions were made, this has never happened before in the police force, the PSC made ten, I made ten and also four acting corporals, I think that’s a record which we have never seen before.”

According to Corbette, in the 10 constables who were confirmed to the rank of corporal among them are two women.

Also promoted are Dereck “Hunter” St. Rose to an inspector of police, Matthew Cuffy to superintendent, woman police Leoma Joseph to sergeant, Anthony Lawrence to Assistant Superintendent (ASP), John Nelson Charles- inspector, Frank Commodore as a sergeant. Among those confirmed as corporals are Kenny Thomas, Hassani Blaize, Beryl Newton- Blondel, and Clyne Prevost.

Corbette also said that the promotion of Matthew Cuffy was long in coming. “It would have been an injustice if he was not promoted to the rank of superintendent; he is a hardworking and well-respected police officer a role model. Also Anthony Lawrence a no-nonsense and also a go-getter, they are well deserved,” he said.

  1. Can someone tell me what is Valarie’s rank presently. Is he the DCOP, ACP or he holds both positions. I am a bit confused?
