One first-half goal and two in the second half proved enough as Valvoline WE United FC continued their impressive form in the 2022 Dominica Football Association Patrick John Cup.
After winning all their preliminary round of matches, the Castle Bruce-based club carried the momentum into the knockout round of the competition. In their round of 16 encounters on Wednesday evening at the Stock Farm Sports Complex, the winners secured a comfortable three goals to-nil victory over LA Enterprises Bombers FC.
National under 20 player Glenson Scotland found the back of the net in the 18th minute to give his club the one-nil advantage heading into the interval. In the second half of the play, Roosevelt Coipel made it two nil when he converted in the 65th minute of play. A mere eight minutes later, the score became three nil after a Derron James strike.
The round of 16 actions will continue on Thursday evening from 6 pm at the Stock Farm Sports Complex. In the only scheduled encounter, Tranquility Beach Middleham United FC will do battle against All Saints FC.
In one of two matches carded for Friday, Petro Caribe Pointe Michel FC will take on Calibishie Diasporas FC from 6 pm at the Stock Farm Sports Complex. The Benjamin Park in Portsmouth will see the clash between Central Cooperative Credit Union LTD Dublanc FC against Glanvillia FC. This encounter is scheduled to kick off at 6 pm.
On Saturday, Connect 767 East Central FC will take on BAA Sharks from 5 pm at the Stockfarm Sports Complex.
