The Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica congratulates President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas
Maduro for his party’s resounding victory in regional and municipal elections held on Sunday, November 21.
We commend the ruling and opposition parties and the people of Venezuela for the peaceful conduct of the elections and adherence to democratic processes.
From all reports, the elections were free and fair. It is our hope that the Government and Opposition will suspend political ill-will and work together to address the economic, political, and social issues currently facing the people of Venezuela. We call for a resolution to political discontent and discord and encourage the country’s leaders and institutions to prioritize the wellbeing of the Venezuelan people.
Being a friend of Venezuela, we pledge our support of efforts to secure peace, security, and economic advancement for all. Long live the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
